My Approach

I work relationally which means I believe the relationship we form as client and therapist is extremely important. Working together, we can try to understand and resolve your challenges in a safe and judgement-free space where you will be respected and valued.

I will help you to explore the impact some of your earliest relationships may have had on your life and your relationships with others. I aim to support you with warmth and empathy and believe that everyone is capable of change and growth. I understand how important it is to have feelings of self-acceptance and self-worth, and how shame and other difficult experiences can rob us of these qualities. I can offer you support around these issues and other events and relationships which may have hurt you in the past or that you are currently struggling with.

You are the expert on yourself and your life. I don’t have the answers but I will walk alongside you as we explore any patterns, behaviours and feelings that may be problematic for you at present.

I work from an anti-oppressive framework and believe that we can not ignore the effect that inequality has on our mental health. The negative messages we receive from society about ourselves can have a devastating effect on us. I aim to provide a space where we can look at ways of helping you to heal and thrive, not just survive. I work hard to ensure that I am aware of issues that affect minorities and continually educate myself about issues that affect groups that I’m not a member of.

I am a qualified Counsellor and hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework, which encourages the development of an open and trusting therapeutic relationship that puts the client first.

I offer a free, 20-minute no obligation consultation call. This call gives me the chance to assess if I can help you with your needs and for you to see if you think that I am the right therapist to support you.

If we decide to work together, my fee is £70 for a 50 minute session. You can pay for your sessions via bank transfer in advance of the session.

I offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions for those on a low income. Please let me know on the free consultation booking form that you are enquiring about this service. Reduced rate sessions are now full.
